A simple, classic Italian dessert that tastes so much better when home made!
TIRAMISU
3 eggs, separated
50g caster sugar
250g mascarpone cheese
150ml very strong coffee
3 TBSP rum (optional)
15-20 sponge fingers
50g dark chocolate
1 TBSP cocoa powder
- Place the yolks in a large bowl with the sugar and beat till light and fluffy and very thick.
- In a separate bowl beat the mascarpone to soften and then gradually beat in the egg yolks.
- In another bowl whisk the whites to medium stiff peak and very carefully fold this into the yolk mixture.
- To assemble, place the coffee and rum into a shallow dish and dip the sponge fingers into it. Place a layer in the serving dish and then a layer of the mascarpone cream. Repeat this until all the mixture is used up, ending with a layer of cream.
- Top with a little chopped chocolate and a dusting of cocoa powder.

Kids Halloween Cooking
